By inventing and assuming the places of fictional characters Guido Lanteri Laura is able to substitute the world in which we live for one in which anything is possible. Much of his work consists of primitively edited recordings in which physical acts and performances can be represented in a way that create moments of doubt within the audience’s mind. These moments of doubt have the ability to not only send the protagonist into a different world, but simultaneously send the audience there with him. This ultimately transforms our everyday physical surroundings into that of fiction, raising questions about reality and our inherent need to distort it.
Guido studied at Camberwell College of Arts and BA Fine Art at Falmouth University. He currently lives and works in Falmouth.
