A duality often emerges from Pablo De Laborde Lascaris’ practice, that initially stems from an understanding of materials and craftsmanship. Two objects merge or an object combines with an action to create a new form, a new idea, or a new method. Pablo’s subversion of design and craft often generates an object without practical purpose questioning sculptural traditions and creating a new direction or choice of exchange, be it cerebral or kinetic.
Pablo de Laborde Lascaris was born and raised in Mexico City where he first exhibited at Galería Juan Martín, one of Mexico’s leading galleries. In 2011, he graduated with a BA in Fine Art from Falmouth University. He is currently represented by Galerie Gourvennec Ogor, Marseille.
